On December 6th, the closing ceremony of 2019 International Port & Shipping Development Seminar was held in the Port Center. The Seminar was organized by the joint base of Guangzhou Port Authority, Guangzhou Port Group and Guangzhou Maritime University. 20 participants from 7 countries, including Angola, Djibouti, Egypt, Fiji, Malaysia, Poland, Thailand attended the 13 days’ seminar.

      The advertising, course design and lectures selection were conducted by the joint base. Apart from theoretical courses and site visits concerning port and shipping, visits to GAC workshop were added, making the seminar fulfilled and interesting.

      During the closing Ceremony, representatives delivered their speeches on the seminar. Roshan from Fiji Port said it was really impressive and enlightening to see how Guangzhou Port operates in person. “Thanks to Guanghzou Port Authority, Guangzhou Port Group and Guangzhou Maritime University, for providing us such a wonderful opportunity to come to Guangzhou. I hope there will be more and more people from the cities along the Belt & Road come to Guangzhou in the future” Yasmine from Egypt said. “The port infrastructure of where I come from is left behind. I wish more Chinese companies and investors can consider to invest in Angola ” said by Elvira from Angola. Moreover, participants provided some suggestions on the course topic of the Seminar.

      At the end of the ceremony, Director General Mr. Chen Hongxian issued the certificate and sent the souvenir to all the participants respectively, marking the success of 2019 International Port & Shipping Development Seminar.
