Tailor-made Training Program for IPC Is Now in Full Swing

      On March 6th, Guangzhou Antwerp Port Training and Consultancy Company (GAPEC) held the opening ceremony of the training program for participants from Indonesia Port Corporation in Port Center.The program was carried out as a beginning of the sister-port relationship established between Port of Guangzhou and Port of Tanjung Priok in Indonesia in 2017. At this moment, the seven-week program is now in full swing.


Deputy Director of GPA Ms. Yuan Yue, Deputy Manager of GPG Mr. Yang Jiansui, GAPEC Board Chairman Mr. Huangjian and General Manger Ms. Duan Huali present at the opening ceremony.


      After the ceremony, participants started their full schedule immediately. From the introduction of Guangdong Pilot Free Trade zone to the investment environment of Guangzhou Port, from marketing strategies to the on-site visit of different terminals in Guangzhou,from the building of Single Window Platform to the optimizing measures for energy conservation, the courses varies in its content and organization. Participants believe that the knowledge and experience they learn from this program will be applied to the upgrading and development of current terminals and the construction of new terminals within IPC.



      As required by IPC, the on-site learning of a container terminal is the priority. At present, participants have finished their study in Guangzhou South China Ocean-gate Container Terminal Company, including the detailed operation procedures, business development, and IT application. “In the largest container terminal in Indonesia JICT, it is unusual to witness the container vessel with more than 10,000 TEU tonnage arrive. But in Nansha, liners with 15,000 TEU tonnage berth here every week. We are so excited! Thanks to GAPEC for holding this program.” In the coming two weeks, participants will also pay a visit to Nansha Automotive Terminal, Gangfa Petrochemical Terminal, Nansha Grain and General Cargo Terminal, and Xinsha Stevedoring Company.
